AN ARTIST STATEMENT
As an artist working within the confines of modern artist temperament, it is not my intention to repeat the past, therefore, anyone viewing my work, with its 19th century influences, should regard these works in the light of passion for the technique of the old masters with their influences manifested in my paintings.
It is my aim to merge both the past and present into a new image of subtle complicities of color and design. My landscapes try to involve the viewer in a surrealistic world. Although they appear real to some degree, they are only dream worlds never having been visited.
In my watercolor portraiture, light and dark opaque colors are rarely used giving me no preconceptions of how to express my intentions. This leaves me free to create my own style. Using dark backgrounds illuminated by a strong key light, my models are set a part from the luxury surrounding them. They are by color, light, and design a part of the painting, and yet they do not enjoy their confinement, nor can they escape their surroundings.
Religious themes have inspired and motivated my work as an artist as well as to create this company. And I demonstrate this in my volume of religious art work, and the standards of this company. My themes in this work are not only pre-modern, but post-modern as well.
My fascination for glass, with its reflection of many varied hues of colors has caused me to explore this fascination through my GLASS WORK© series. Being a painter did not exclude me from expressing glass imagery in its many forms-influencing my landscapes and portrait work as well.
I realize watercolor is not as prominent as it was in the 19th & early 20th century, however, I feel as an artist working in the traditions of that medium today, gives me the background to express my art as a watercolor purest entering the 21st century. Though it does not have the strong nuances of oil or acrylic mediums, what it lacks in extreme appeal, it makes up for in delicate simplicity.
In conclusion, it is my goal as an artist, president, and CEO of this company to start with a blank canvas allowing the spiritual directions of mental imagery to present my final product to you, my client, that you will find as a positive acquisition for your art collection as well as my artistic expression.
It is my intention that [ you ], my client will be able to express your fulfilled art dreams by finding, that my art style is what you are searching for, to complete your corporate or home interior setting.
